Dr. Amish Dalal is a surgical & gynecologic oncologist involved in the management of cancer patients since 1986. Though he is proficient in treating any solid tumor, he holds a special interest in the treating breast diseases and the management of gynecologic, urologic and colon rectal cancers. When a patient is detected with cancer, he follows an organized approach of presenting a comprehensive management plan and then treating the disease through surgery, when necessary. Since 2001 he has been performing oncologic surgeries laparoscopically in patients when applicable. He is an attending oncologist at Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Bhatia Hospital, and Parsee General Hospital.
Modern day technological advancements enable cancer to be surgically operated through three different methods – the conventional “open” method, laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Doctor Amish Dalal is well-versed with all of these methods and conducts surgeries taking into consideration the feasibility and the principles of oncology. The Robotic Surgery offers several advantages over the two other methods when conducted on selective patients, for instance, the pain induced is comparatively lesser than the other patients, leading to faster recovery.
Doctor Amish Dalal safely recommends this method to patients of cervical cancer, prostate cancer, Endocrinol cancer, colon and rectal cancers, kidney cancer, bladder cancer and esophageal cancer. Currently, Saifee Hospital, one of the esteemed city hospitals where Dr. Amish Dalal practices, is equipped with the 3rd generation robotics system.
